After Sushma Swaraj's warning, Amazon removes Tricolour themed doormats from website
Washington/Ottawa: After External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took solid special case to Amazon Canada offering doormats portraying Indian banner, the internet business site on Wednesday expelled the article from the online commercial center.
The pastor had yesterday said Amazon must delicate an unqualified expression of remorse and pull back all items offending the Tricolor, generally no Amazon authority will get an Indian visa.
A representative for Seattle-based Amazon reached The Washington Post to state that the doormat was no longer available to be purchased on its site.
Taking to Twitter, the External Affairs Minister had stated: "Amazon must delicate unqualified conciliatory sentiment. They should pull back all items offending our national banner instantly."
"On the off chance that this is not done forthwith, we won't concede Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will likewise cancel the Visas issued prior," she said.
Doormats including the Indian flag were made accessible on Amazon Canada site by two merchants - Mayers Flag Doormats and XLYL.
A picture of the items was tweeted to the Minister, after which she asked the Indian High Commission in Canada to raise the issue with Amazon.
"@SushmaSwaraj Madam. Amazon Canada must be scolded and cautioned not to offer India signal doormats. It would be ideal if you make a move," tweeted Atul Bhobe, who likewise posted a screenshot of the items.
Reacting to this, the pastor tweeted: "Indian High Commission in Canada: This is inadmissible. If you don't mind bring this up with Amazon at the most elevated amount."
