US president-elect Barack Obama in a telephone call to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki told that he plans to visit Iraq after his inauguration on January 20, the premier's office said. ''In a telephone call on Wednesday night, he hailed Maliki's efforts towards improving the security situation and expressed the wish to visit Iraq after his inauguration,'' it said in a statement, without giving a date.
