A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 struck off New Zealand on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The quake hit off the remote Kermadec islands at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres at 1441 IST, the USGS said.
