Hero Destini vs Honda Activa vs Suzuki Burgman – Best 125 cc scooter in India is?
Hero MotoCorp has finally entered the fast-growing 125cc scooter segment with the launch of Hero Destini 125.

Current segment leaders include Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Activa 125 and there are other rivals as well such as Suzuki Burgman Street 125, Honda Grazia, and TVS Ntorq 125. Hero Destini 125 will primarily compete with Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Burgman Street 125. Here’s a quick comparison between the three scooters to understand which one would be a better option.

Hero Destini 125: Hero is offering the pioneering i3S technology, which is supposedly the first of its kind system to be introduced in family scooters in India. i3S technology helps save fuel by putting the engine in sleep mode when it’s idle. Engine comes back to life automatically when the brake is squeezed. Destini 125 has an elegant metal body, chrome accents and signature tail lamp, which improve its overall styling.

Other key features of Hero Destini 125 include integrated breaking, telescopic front suspension, external fuel filling, mobile charging port and boot light, dual-tone seats, combination lock, service reminder, digital analogue combo meter console, always headlamp on, side stand indicator, and body coloured mirrors. Dimensions are length 1809 mm, width 729 mm, height 1154 mm, wheelbase 1245 mm, ground clearance 155 mm, and kerb weight 111.5 Kg. Destini 125 is powered by a 124.6cc, air cooled, 4-stroke, SI engine that delivers 8.70 bhp power and 10.2 Nm torque.

Honda Activa 125: This has most of the features available in Hero Destini. Some distinguishing features of Activa 125 include LED headlamp and position lamp, 4-in-1 lock with seat opening switch, 3-step rear adjustable suspension, and advanced braking system featuring CBS with equalizer. Dimensions are length 1814 mm, width 704 mm, height 1151 mm, wheelbase 1260 mm, ground clearance 155 mm, and kerb weight 108 Kg. Activa 125 is powered by a 125.9cc fan cooled, 4-stroke SI engine that delivers 8.52 bhp power and 10.54 Nm torque.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125: Designed to be a head-turner, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is probably the most muscular of all 125cc scooters in the country. It shares many features with Activa and Destini and has several unique features as well such as multi-function full digital meter, flexible foot position for rider, Suzuki easy start system, and chrome mirrors. Dimensions are length 1880 mm, width 675 mm, height 1140 mm, wheelbase 1265 mm, ground clearance 160 mm, and kerb weight 108 Kg. Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is powered by a 124cc, 4-stroke, air cooled engine that delivers 8.6 bhp power and 10.2 Nm torque.

The Verdict – Which one to buy? There is very little difference in power and torque output of all three scooters, so don’t expect any major difference in terms of performance. All three scooters are stylishly designed, but Suzuki Burgman Street 125 has a lot more brawn. Since Hero has the widest dealer network across the country, Destini 125 buyers can be assured of quality service and genuine spare parts. At Rs 54,650, Hero Destini 125 is also the most affordable 125cc scooter in India. If we consider the pricing and the fact that there are no major differences in power and performance, Hero Destini 125 seems like a good option.
