Juhi Chawla posts video from Bali on alternative plastic bags. India says we want too
With the way humans have been overexploiting resources of planet earth over centuries, it is time for an immediate change. Plastic has been the biggest culprit behind pollution, from water to land, and air too. Most of the plastic ends up in the water bodies, where the sea creatures consume them and it leads to their death.
However, a recent tweet by actress Juhi Chawla shows that Indonesia has found a solution to this huge problem. Juhi captioned the video, "Bali Island, Indonesia, banned plastic bags from being used and replaced with bags made from vegetable roots. The nice thing about it is that it is 100% biodegradable and melts in water. We hope to see these bags in our country. !! Made of cassava tree (mahogu)."
The video shows a man carrying a bag that looks like a plastic bag and serves the same purpose, but is made out of vegetable roots. As in, the bag is soluble in water (you can see that in the video). The bag is biodegradable too.
The video shows that because the bag is made from the roots of Cassava, the water is still drinkable and not polluted.
Twitter is going crazy over this viral video and Indians are asking for these bags in our country too.
