Bank employees go on strike; cash deposits, cheque clearances, withdrawal services hit hard

Branches of open banks remained either shut or non-operational on Tuesday as staff members and officers proceeded with their day-long strike squeezing for different requests, including responsibility of top administrators in the wake of mounting terrible advances.

Administrations like money stores and withdrawal from branches and check clearances have been hit hard by the strike, which has been called under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).

"The strike has been constrained on us due to unyielding and obtuse disposition of the bank administration and IBA. They even did not try to chat on giving remuneration to additional hours put in by bank staff amid the demonetisation time frame," All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) General Secretary C H Venkatachalam told PTI.

The UFBU is an umbrella collection of 9 unions, yet two of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh offshoots - the National Organization of Bank Workers and the National Organization of Bank Officers - are not some portion of the mix.

Unions are likewise restricted to the proposed work changes of the administration and outsourcing of lasting occupations in the keeping money segment.
