National Technology Day: On anniversary of Pokhran nuclear tests, PM Modi hails Vajpayee's courage
NEW DELHI: On the National Technology Day honored to stamp the commemoration of Pokhran atomic tests of 1998, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the "courage" appeared by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"Welcome to everybody, particularly our innovative researchers and those energetic about innovation, on National Technology Day," PM Modi tweeted.
"We remain grateful to our scientists & the then political leadership for the courage shown in Pokhran in 1998," he included.
Since 1999, May 11 is honored as the National Technology Day to stamp India's logical ability and technological advancements.
It was a similar date in 1998 when India effectively led first among the five atomic tests in Pokhran under the administration of Vajpayee. The tests displayed India's strength to the whole world.
A review on Narendramodi.in site alludes to a prior discourse of Modi in which he had stated, "The world is very much aware of the Pokhran tests. Under Atal ji's authority, successful tests were completed and the whole world was an observer to India's strength. The researchers made the country pleased."
