5 Oil-Based Hair Masks To Get Rid Of Winter Dryness

Dry hair? Not anymore

Now we know that oil is an overall magic potion for your hair, skin and nails all through the year. That's even more true in winter. When the icy breeze and dry climate leave your hair parched, damaged and frizzy, oil can be all you need to rescue your mane. We aren't talking about applying it directly. For the real benefit of winter fighting nutrients, try these five oil-based hair masks to enrich your hair incredibly this season.

1. All Coconut Mask

Nothing beats coconut oil when it comes to turning back hair damage. To make the most of it, combine two tablespoons slightly heated coconut oil with three tablespoons coconut milk thoroughly and apply it over the scalp until the ends of the hair. Leave it to soak in for three hours and wash off with shampoo and warm water. Coconut as a whole is rich in moisturisation and this mask uses its power doubly. Both these ingredients will go deep into the strand to drive away dryness and leave the hair feeling softer than ever.

2. Olive And Egg Mask

No, olive oil isn't just used for cooking. It fights dryness while being lightweight, which is great for an oily scalp. To make this hair mask, mix together four tablespoons of olive oil with two well-whipped egg yolks. Mix well and apply it over the scalp till mid-length while massaging it in. Leave the mask to set for an hour and then wash away with warm water and shampoo. This mask uses olive oil's nourishment and protein packed egg yolks to get rid of dryness with ease while also adding tremendous volume to the hair.

3. Argan And Aloe Mask

This oil is so famous for hair care, it doesn't even need any introduction. In a bowl, mix together five tablespoons of argan oil with three tablespoons of fresh aloe pulp. Combine well and then apply to the roots and lengths of the hair. Allow the hair mask to work its magic for two hours, then wash off with mild shampoo and warm water. While argan oil works hard to keep dryness at bay, aloe soothes the scalp and especially gets rid of winter troubles like flakiness and irritation.

4. Coconut And Avocado Mask

In a bowl, mix five tablespoons of coconut oil with two tablespoons of avocado pulp and one tablespoon of honey. Combine well until it forms a smooth paste and apply it all over the hair lengths. Leave it for an hour and a half, then wash off with warm water and shampoo. Along with coconut oil being extremely nourishing, avocado and honey are moisturising as well which gives the hair just the boost of hydration it needs.

5. Olive And Banana Mask

Mix together the pulp of one banana with two tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of yogurt in a bowl. Apply the mixture all over the hair length. Allow the mask to sit for an hour-and-a-half to truly let it seep it, then wash off with warm water and shampoo. Besides being delicious, banana and yoghurt are high in nutrients like lactic acid and potassium which helps fight dryness and turn back hair damage right from the root.
