HOW DOES THE 16/8 DIET WORK?

Now, if you think that 16 hours is a long time to not eat anything, it is not that difficult. You can make your eating window from 9 am to 5 pm and have a proper healthy breakfast, along with lunch and snacks till 5 pm. You will just have to skip your dinner and your fast will continue overnight.

Or the other option, which is easier than the first one, is that you skip your breakfast and have a healthy lunch and dinner along with some healthy snacks throughout the day.

The actor went from being the chubby man in films and TV shows, to the handsome hunk who carries the salt and pepper look with great poise, in a matter of two years.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE 16/8 DIET?

Studies say that the 16/8 hour diet accelerates the weight loss process. This is because the fasting cuts your calorie consumption in a day and also boosts metabolism, that ultimately leads to weight loss.

The diet also improves keeps your blood sugar level in check, according to another study. Intermittent fasting is known to reduce the risk of insulin resistance by 31 per cent and lowers blood sugar by 3-6 per cent, which can lead to a reduced risk of diabetes.

BUT IS 16/8 DIET ALL GOOD AND SAFE?

With the good, along comes the bad. There are a few side-effects of the much-appreciated diet. You might face short-term negative effects just at the beginning of the diet. These might include sudden hunger pangs, fatigue and weakness, but will subside once you get used to the format.

It might also lead to unhealthy eating habits, so make sure you eat healthy snacks and meals during your 8-hour window.

This diet is generally considered safe, but if you have any problems or if you are on any kind of medication, do consult your doctor before starting the diet.
