'Married by accident': Injured groom wears nothing but just a pair of shorts on his wedding, photos go viral

Couples have elaborate plans for their wedding day. Even if they plan to keep things minimalistic, one wouldn't imagine you to be attending one of the most important days of your life in just a pair of shorts.

Photos of a young couple from the East Java region of Indonesia showing the groom wearing nothing but just a pair of shorts have gone viral on social media. He also had an arm sling attached to his shoulder, along with some bandages on different parts of his body. However, his bride is seen sitting beside him in a heavy and traditional Javanese wedding attire.

The photos which were posted on Twitter by user @br0wski have gone viral on the microblogging platform, garnering more than 14,500 likes and over 2,500 retweets. Netizens were curious to know about the groom's attire.

One user asked, "can someone give me the behind story i am CURIOUS." Another joked, "Maybe this is what is called being married by accident." A third user commented, "the show must go on."

Elinda Dwi Kristiani told local media that she married her husband Suprapto on April 2. The wedding was held at her residence in the Lengkong area, Nganjuk Regency, East Java.

Elinda explained that her husband's condition did not allow him to wear his wedding dress. He underwent an operation after meeting an accident just four days before their marriage.

The bride told Indonesian newspaper Kompas, "My husband was involved in an accident while he went out to buy petrol. He suddenly lost consciousness on the way, then he fell off the motorcycle."
