22 workers trapped after accident in Chinese coal mine
Thursday, December 1, 2016 IST
Beijing, 22 workers are trapped in a coal mine in China's northeastern Heilongjiang Province, the most recent mischance to hit the nation's mining industry.
The mischance occurred around 9:00 pm on Tuesday in Qitaihe city and 22 specialists are caught in the mine, state-run Xinhua news organization reported.
Safeguard operations are in progress and the reason for the setback is being researched, it said.
China's mining industry has for quite some time been among the world's deadliest with continuous mine mischances.
China is the world's biggest maker and customer of coal.
A blast at a mine in the southwestern area of Chongqing on October 31 murdered 33 individuals, weeks after a gas blast in another mine in Guizhou region had executed seven individuals.
