Colours of monsoon

In monsoons, there’s overcast skies, a drizzle or a downpour. They evoke all kinds of emotions in our lives. People celebrate monsoon with favourite songs and mouth-watering dishes like pakoras or samosa with hot tea. In rainy season, the rainbow is a beautiful phenomenon knowing the significance of each of the colours.

 
 

Rainbow has seven colours, making a VIBGYOR which stands for violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Astrologically, these seven colours represents all the nine planets.
 
VIOLET: Symbol of Rahu and Ketu, it denotes mercy, phobia and insanity.INDIGO: Symbol of Saturn, denotes spirituality.BLUE: Symbol of Venus, it denotes love and relationship.GREEN: Symbol of Mercury. It denotes education, mind and healing.YELLOW: Symbol of Jupiter. It denotes thoughts/wisdom.ORANGE: Symbol of Moon and Sun. It denotes feeling and revelation/ vitality.RED: Symbol of Mars. It denotes energy and strength.
 
Different colours symbolise different personalities and also affect our moods differently. The seven colours of rainbow are linked with seven planets, seven chakras, seven codes, seven days, auras and so on. The following seven colours of the rainbow have different characteristics:
 
VIOLET: This is considered the highest element of spirituality. This is an inspirational colour for artists, actors, musicians. Deeper tone of violet is associated with highest spiritual level.
 
Effects:
 
Light shades are associated with sorrow.
It brings sleeplessness.
 
INDIGO: It is believed that Indigo has a sedating effect. Indigo is mystical, it elevates spiritual upliftment self-awareness and enhancement of initiation.
 
Effects:
 
Reduces irritability.
Eliminates chronic fatigue.
It influences sleep, migraine, immunity and moods.
 
BLUE: It is the colour of heavenly consciousness, truth, harmony, calmness and hope. It is the colour of sky (Akash) which is the most important element amongst the five.
 
Effects:
 
It stimulates creativity, art and music.
Lowers the body temperature.
Deepens breathing.
 
 

 
 

GREEN: It is a colour of nature. It denotes fertility, growth, balance, health and wealth. It is peaceful and cool in its positive effects.
 
Effects:
 
Allergic reactions to foods are reduced.
Most cells of basophils (type of white blood cells) are stabilised.
Improves your vision.
 
YELLOW: This is the colour of sunshine itself. It represents clarity of thoughts, wisdom, orderliness and energy.
 
Effects:
 
It is a stress buster.
It brings positive vibrations and religious feelings.
 
ORANGE: It stimulates creativity and ambition along with energetic activity, it is a colour of nourishment.
 
Effects:
 
The appetite elevates and increases.
Relaxation induces and potential for sleep increases.
It cures asthma, kidney ailments and menstrual difficulties.
 
RED: This is the first colour of rainbow from top. It’s the colour that stirs your senses and passion. Red signifies vitality, enthusiasm and security. It is the light with the longest wavelength.
 
Effects:
 
The taste buds become more sensitive.
The sense of smell lightens.
Becomes attracted to opposite sex.
