SC asks govt to consider allowing people to deposit banned notes if they have a valid reason

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Center and Reserve Bank from India (RBI) to give a chance to individuals who were not able submit demonetised bank notes before the December 30, 2016 due date.

"On the off chance that somebody has a genuine reason, you can't deny him the chance to store the cash," a  bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar told specialist general Ranjit Kumar who took two weeks to return with the administration's reaction.

"RBI could presumably hear on case-to-case premise and not recognize a class," Kumar said.

"You can't take away somebody's property. In the event that it's my cash and I can build up that, at that point you can't deny me of my property," Chief Justice Khehar said while hearing petitions testing the administration's warning that prohibited subjects from keeping old notes.

A few instances of individuals finding buried demonetised notes have become visible since the RBI deadline passed, incorporating two vagrants in Madhya Pradesh who looked for the PM's assistance in trading Rs 96,500 they found at their folks' home.
