Travel by Delhi Metro, DTC?

The ONE card with the tagline “One Delhi. One Ride.” captures the vision of Delhi government to provide a seamless, convenient public transport system for the people of Delhi. Further, the card will also be symbolic Delhi's multiplicity and one-ness, as the national capital has been and continues to be a meeting point of people as well as cultures.

For Delhiites commuting from one end to another corner in the national capital territory has become even easier now as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government launched the common mobility card termed as ONE card today. This will facilitate commuters of public transport to travel in Delhi Metro and in buses with a single mobility card issued by the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation).

Delhi's Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot today launched the new common mobility card of Delhi, “ONE” card, at Rajghat cluster bus depot. The MD, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was also present in unveiling of the new card, said a statement.

The ONE card brings together the people from all parts of Delhi and helps them get to their destinations through a seamless public transport system.

Earlier in August 2018, the Delhi government had originally launched the scheme, but till date people had been using only the Delhi Metro card in the government run buses.

DTC will also issue its card titled as ‘One’, and with this card, commuters will be able to travel in Delhi Metro as well.

The common mobility card can be used in all buses run by Delhi Transport Corporation, DIMTS (Delhi integrated multi-modal transit system), and in Delhi Metro trains.

Notably, the Delhi government had also started the e-payment of bus fares using Metro cards in all its 5,500 buses in the month of August this year. Passengers need to hand over their Delhi Metro smart card to the bus conductor who then flash the card on the screen of the electronic ticketing machine (ETM) to deduct the fare.
