Cricket is undoubtedly the most popular sport in India and cricketers are treated like God’s here. We get to see many die-hard fans of such popular cricketers that take pride in knowing each and every minute detail about them. The way they dress up, their salary, their favourite food, about their brother and sister etc. – you name the information and these fans know every single thing about it.

However, there is some information that always manages to amaze them. One such information is about the personal life of the cricketers, namely their brother. Here we take a look at the lesser-known brothers of five such popular Indian cricketers.

1. Virat Kohli and Vikas Kohli

Virat Kohli is arguably one of the best cricketers of the modern era and one of the finest produced by India. While many are his die-hard followers, very few will know that he has a brother named Vikas Kohli.

Vikas Kohli is a music producer and has produced music in many genres as Bollywood pop, hip-hop, punk, metal, etc. After the death of Virat Kohli’s father, Vikas being the elder brother took the responsibility of the house. This ensured that Virat was able to focus on his cricket. Thus, Vikas Kohli as a big role to play in the cricketer that Virat Kohli is today.

2. Yuvraj Singh and Zoravar Singh

Yuvraj Singh is arguably one of the best white-ball all-rounders produced by the Indian team. He has had s great contribution in Team India’s success in both the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup where he won the Man of the Series.

However, very few know that he also has a brother named Zoravar Singh. While Zoravar tried his luck in acting, he never even came close to being as famous as his brother Yuvraj. Instead, he attained fame for all the wrong reasons. Zoravar’s separated wife Akanksha Sharma was a participant in Big Boss Season 10, and she made some unbelievable revelations about her unsuccessful marriage. She also revealed that she was tortured by her in-laws.

3. Rohit Sharma and Vishal Sharma

Rohit Sharma needs no introduction as he has proved himself to be one of the most dangerous openers the game has ever seen. His game reached the next level ever since he began opening the batting for India and has never looked back ever since.

However, what is not known much about is that he has a brother named Vishal Sharma. Vishal is an Instagram influencer and his videos are often promoted by his brother Rohit. Both have supported each other very well in their good and bad times and continue to have cordial relations.

4. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Narendra Singh Dhoni

MS Dhoni has proved himself to be the most successful captain India has ever had. He is the only captain to have won all the three ICC tournaments – The T20 World Cup, the 50-over World Cup and the Champions Trophy. Achieving so much in his life as a cricketer, MS will surely go down as one of the greats of the game.

Many believed that MS Dhoni does not have great relations with his brother Narendra Singh Dhoni. This was because the latter wasn’t shown in MS Dhoni’s biopic. However, Narendra dismissed these rumours and assured that they were at great terms. Narendra is a politician and lives in Ranchi with his wife and two kids.

5. Sourav Ganguly and Snehasish Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly was one of the first Indian captains who made the Indian team believe that they could fight fire with fire. He backed many youngsters like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, etc. and turned them into match winners.

While Sourav had the Midas touch, his brother Snehasish was the one who made the former fall in love with the game. Not many will know that it was Snehasish because of whom Sourav started batting left-handed, something which went on to change the face of Indian batting as he was called the God of off-side. While Snehasish did play cricket for Bengal for 10 years, he looked after the family business later and ensured Sourav concentrated on cricket.
