22 burnt alive as bus catches fire after collision with truck in Bareily

Bareilly: In a frightful accident, at least 22 people were killed and 15 others harmed when a passenger bus collided into a truck and caught fire on National Highway 24 in Bareilly early Monday.

The transport of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) conveying 41 travelers from Delhi was headed to Gonda in eastern Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred close Bada sidestep at around 1:00 am.

In the interim, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reported an ex gratia of Rs two lakh for the family of expired and Rs 50,000 for those harmed.

The transport impacted head on with a speeding truck originating from the bearing of Lucknow close to the modified University turn.

"22 travelers of the bus died, while 15 sustained injuries. Six travelers are basically harmed and have been hospitalized," he said.

Some harmed were raced to close-by therapeutic offices.

The traffic has been diverted.

CFM area doctor's facility's Dr BC Yadav told news office ANI, "The bodies were singed inside and out to a degree that it is exhausting to figure out the gender orientation of the carcasses."
