'I had to make peace with my death': Manisha Koirala on fighting ovarian cancer
Tuesday, January 29, 2019 IST

Manisha Koirala recently opened up about her long fight with cancer and how it changed her life forever. She also published a book on her experience titled 'Healed', which was launched earlier this month.

Manisha Koirala, who was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju, recently opened up about her battle against cancer. The 48-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, recently released her book titled, Healed. In an interview with PTI, Manisha said: “When I was sick, I was searching for positive stories. I could not get many stories, except the success story of (actor) Lisa Ray and (cricketer) Yuvraj Singh, who came out fighting successfully with cancer.”

She credited her mother for providing all the emotional support that she needed to get healed.

She added, “I had to make peace with my death. I made a promise to myself that if I get to live again I will spread awareness about cancer. It is the perception towards the problem that matters. You can take it as a challenge or see it as something that you cannot overcome”.
