Demonetisation: RBI Governor Urjit Patel to brief Parliamentary panel today
New Delhi: Reserve Bank Governor Urjit Patel will brief the Parliamentary Committee on Finance about the demonetisation procedure and its effect on Monday.
Since banning of old 500 and 1000 rupee notes on the eighth of a month ago, the Government has taken a large group of measures like Service Tax sops and motivators for advance computerized installment and dial down issues emerging out of less cash being accessible in the market.
RBI a week ago said that 12.44 lakh crore rupees in demonetised notes have been gathered at banks. Likewise, banks have issued 4.61 lakh crore rupees to the general population since November 8-9 through ATMs and bank counters.
