HTC’s latest Desire smartphones offer 18:9 aspect ratio displays wrapped in sleek glass bodies.
 

 
 

HTC on Wednesday launched two new smartphones in India from its Desire series. HTC Desire 12 is priced at Rs 15,800, while the Desire 12+ carries a price tag of Rs 19,790. HTC will start selling both the phones from June 11.
 
HTC highlights the edge-to-edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio on the Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ smartphones. The displays come with a 2.5D glass layered on top. The two phones also flaunt a ‘durable acrylic glass back’. The smartphones are packed with ‘HTC Sense Companion’ which keeps a tab on alarms, battery and performance. This feature reminds users of events a day ahead.
 
It will also remind users to charge their phones when there’s a scheduled event and juice would be required. It also maintains performance by clearing junk and unused apps for more space.
 
HTC Desire and Desire 12+ look similar in design but differ in terms of specifications and features.

 
 

HTC Desire 12 specifications
 
HTC Desire 12 features a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS display and runs a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor under its hood. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card.
 
For photography, HTC Desire 12 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a f/2.4 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone comes with a 2,730mAh battery and runs Android OS with HTC Sense wrapped on top. Its connectivity options include dual SIM support, a 3.5mm audio jack, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi.
 
HTC Desire 12+ specifications
 
HTC Desire 12+ has a bigger 6-inch HD+ display, and runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC unlike its junior. In terms of memory, this smartphone also offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The camera specs largely differ as HTC Desire 12+ sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which comprises of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras.
 
Up front, it houses an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. HTC Desire 12+ is fuelled by a 2,965mAh battery. The smartphone comes with features like bokeh mode and front-facing LED flash for selfies.
 
Rest of the specs remains the same between the two phones.
