Tronx Motors, a subsidiary of Hyderabad-based Smartron, has launched a smart crossover electric bike called Tronx One. Comes with a price tag of Rs. 49,999, the new bike is touted to be India's first smart crossover electric bike. It is claimed to deliver a maximum speed of 25 kilometres per hour, and on a single charge, it is rated to provide power for up to 70 to 85 kilometres. To enable a connected experience, the bike also works with an integrated tbike app that lets riders estimate range and even set fitness goals directly from a smartphone. It will be available in Magma Red and Pacific Blue colour options through tstore. Shipments will begin starting July 16 for the first batch of customers who have pre-booked the bike.

Tronx One features a display powered by Smatron's tronX technology. The display panel helps riders view information at a glance. Also, there are multiple ride modes and 'Virtual Gears' coupled with three Electric Gears and six-speed Shimano Shifters that are designed to extend and adjust the range and speed of the bike, Tronx Motors said. The bike comes with a mid-step-thru frame that is made of rust-proof aerograde alloy material. Further, there are cross road-type tyres measure 26x2 inches that are available on top of double wall alloy-made rims.

Under the hood, the Tronx One has a detachable 36V, 13.6Ah Lithium 500W battery that is powering the 250W rear hub motor. The battery is touted to deliver a guaranteed range of 50 kilometres on continuous throttle mode per charge and 70 to 85 kilometres on electronic gear Assist Mode per charge. Moreover, there are front and rear electronic brakes, and Zoom Masera 80mm front suspension.

Tronx Motors has partnered with service partners in nine select cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Goa, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. Through these partners customers will be able to try and ride the bike as well, based on appointment slots, the company said.

"Tronx One is developed in India by a passionate team of designers and engineers and we are very excited to launch it for Indian consumers," said Anoop Nishanth, Founder and CEO, Tronx Motors, in a press statement. "With unique features such as advanced detachable lithium battery technology powered by advanced Samsung cells which is designed to carry and charge, the product is an ideal companion for the consumer as it offers a powerful and fun riding experience powered by the tronX ecosystem."
