Here's another dangerous challenge going viral on short-video app TikTok. Called 'tripping jump' or 'skull breaker', the bizarre challenge has gone viral on social media. And from the looks of it, the challenge is a new headache for schools and worry for parents in several parts of the world. Several videos of students performing this challenge are from schools in Europe and South America are doing rounds on social media. Here's what you need to know about this new nasty challenge on TikTok

In this challenge, three people stand side by side. One person stands in the middles, while two on the sides. The person in the middle jumps high, while those on the sidekick on jumper's legs. Because of this, the jumper lands on the ground. Little doubt then that various countries have termed “skull breaker” as the latest danger in schools. Another TikTok video, reportedly from a school in Mexico, shows two schoolgirls using the arms of a sweater to trip a classmate. The footage of the same too has been circulated on social media.

Principals have issued advisory

In several schools in Europe and South America, principals have issued an advisory to create awareness about this challenge.

In some countries, police have started investigations to trace the origin of this challenge

What doctors say

According to doctors, this prank should not be performed as it may fracture every joint. Dr Rajeev Sharma, chairman, orthopedics at Vimhans, said, “The person who trips has a free fall on the hip. He or she can fracture the knee, ankle, hip or any other joint. There is also a risk of ligament tear.”

The challenge is also circulating as WhatsApp forward

'Skull breaker' challenge is now also circulating as WhatsApp forward. Fortunately, it is as a warning for parents to make their kids aware of the dangers of this challenge.

Why the big worry for parents and teachers in India

While so far no video of school students doing this challenge in India has surfaced, with the global nature of social media it's brainer that students in the country would be insulated from it. So, it's very important for both parents and teachers to create awareness about its dangers.
