Rakshabandhan 2018: Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners and Nathu Sweets are two of the shops where you can get some of the best ghevar in Delhi.

 
 

Ghevar is a popular Rajasthani sweet which is made with pure desi ghee, milk and maida. Enjoyed mostly during the monsoon season, ghevar is one sweet dish which you must definitely try if you haven’t already.
 
Ghevar is traditionally made during Raksha Bandhan and also Teej, since the amount of moisture required for its preparation is ideal during this time period. If you reside in Delhi and want to try this sweet, you can visit any of these five shops which provide you with the lip-smacking Rajasthani delicacy.
 
Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners
 
Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners is located in Chandni Chowk, and is one of the most well-known sweet shops in the capital. Apart from ghevar, another dish which you should try is their Karachi Halwa. Ghevar just seems to melt in your mouth. Other popular choices are Sohan Halwa and Dhodha.

Gulab
 
Gulab was before basically a Gajjak-Rewari shop in Rohtak. In Delhi, their location is in Pitampura. They have a wide variety of desi ghee sweets. While gobbling down their ghevar, also try Rewri and Chikkis.

Nathu Sweets
 
Nathu Sweets offers two types of sweets: khoya ghevar and malai ghevar that will just melt in your mouth. While here, also try their chole bhature and chaat.

Kaleva
 
Kaleva has various types of ghevar such as mawa-khoya ghevar and malai ghevar. Other favourites here are the badam ka halwa, kesariya jalebi and raj kachori.

Kishan Lal Halwai
 
Kishan Lal’s sweet shop is located in an old haveli in Chandni Chowk, and is currently run by Kishan Lal’s son. Once there, make sure you also try their Karachi halwa, sev ki barfi and, of course, the reason you went there, their ghevar.
