Maintain law, order at all cost: ADGP to cops

Muhammad Akil, Additional Director-General (Law and Order), has told the anti-riot squad of the police force to ensure the maintenance of law and order and not to repeat the past mistakes to wash the blot (of arson and violence witnessed during the Jat agitation for the reservation last February).
The ADGP visited the Police Lines today along with Rohtak Range IGP Navdeep Singh Virk, local SP Pankaj Nain and inspected the training of police personnel and other preparations being made to maintain law and order in view of the threat to resume the Jat stir for quota.
Akil told police personnel to follow the instructions of their superiors and share every bit of information/input with them. He asked them to deal with anti-social elements sternly and not to hesitate in using force.
The ADGP also held a meeting with local police officers and asked them to ensure that no road or railway track gets blocked in any situation. He advised them to have good coordination with the district administration and issue clear orders to their subordinates.
Rohtak Range IGP Navdeep Singh Virk directed the police officers concerned to maintain constant dialogue with prominent persons of their respective areas and solicit public support in the maintenance of law and order.
Meanwhile, local police personnel underwent riot-control training under CRPF Assistant Commandant Zile Singh at the local Police Lines today. The policemen were trained about the use of anti-riot gear, equipment and ammunition.
The CRPF officer told the police personnel to exercise self-control, work as a team and follow the directions of their team leader while dealing with rioters.
Police preparedness reviewed

Sonepat: Mohammad Akil addressed a meeting of police officials and duty magistrates in view of the call to renew the Jat stir.

He said no one would be allowed to take the law into his hands and the authorities concerned would act decisively against anti-social elements. “There should not be any communication gap and no information should be taken lightly,” he told the officials.
He asked all duty magistrates and police officers not to leave their stations and maintain close coordination with people in their areas.
Deputy Commissioner KM Pandurang assured the ADGP that all requisite steps would be taken to keep the situation under control. All SDMs, DSPs, duty magistrates and SHOs were present in the meeting.
