Suicide Or Murder? This Picture Of A Dead Parrot Caught In Kite String Will Break Your Heart

A photographer Bhavik Thaker shared a picture of a dead parrot stuck in a Manjha (kite string) which was tied around his neck like a noose.

The hard-hitting image was shared with the caption ‘Kaypo Che?’ and it showcased the plight of birds. The photographer asks a very pertinent question in the post - is it suicide or murder?

While flying kites is a happy pastime for so many of us, it spells doom for the birds whose world essentially gets tied up in deadly threads. Every year hundreds of birds are butchered by kite strings which boast of being sharper and unbreakable. So, while you may not lose the kite fight, a bird will lose its life.

The picture of the parrot has been shared online by many people and it should be a wake-up call for all of us:

Kite-flying is associated with various festivals around the year. There is no harm in having fun and celebrating a festival, but the questions we need to ask ourselves are:

Is it worth killing hundreds of birds?

Is this the only way that this festival can be celebrated?

Is it possible to find a middle ground that won't hurt these speechless creatures?
