IRCTC adds another method for booking rail tickets. Check details here

The e-ticketing arm of Railways , Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has launched a new method for booking rail tickets.

"Now, IRCTC e-wallet users can book rail tickets through its mobile app IRCTC Rail Connect," IRCTC said on Twitter. Like other wallets -- Paytm or Mobikwik -- IRCTC e-wallet users can also recharge their wallet and use the amount at the time of booking rail tickets.
Passengers can use the e-wallet facility by registering themselves on the IRCTC website. A user can keep six banks on his preference list. IRCTC e-wallet is among the many payment e-wallet options available on its website as well as mobile app.

IRCTC Rail Connect app also provides cab booking facility. IRCTC has tied up with Ola to make commuting easy for rail travellers.

IRCTC also said that rail passengers can now order food through IRCTC Food on Track app. "Now your favourite food is just a click away even during Train Journey! IRCTC brings to you delicious meals from restaurant of your choice," IRCTC tweeted.

Passengers can book food through the Android app using their PNR number. The app allows users to pay online and offline mode through credit card, debit card, internet banking or cash on delivery.

In addition, Railways has also launched no bill, free food policy! Under the new policy, if vendor doesn't provide a bill for food and beverages purchased on trains, the passenger can avail the food for free.
Earlier on April 5, IRCTC had introduced new rules for Tatkal bookings.
