Why is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

What do you know of love, of sacrifice;

Of burning yourself day in and day out to achieve your goals…

If at all you want to understand passion – you can try going back to the pages of history and read about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s deepest desire to work for the welfare of children and the youth.

He was a great leader with a vision and he achieved far greater things life because he was driven by his pure passion for doing remarkable things for young people. His zeal to work on Indian Education system and development of children in India speaks volumes.

Very particular about the progress of Indian youth and he was keen on enabling great and responsible citizens out of young boys and girls. Under his regime and supervision, established several educational institutions including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), and Indian Institutes of Management (IIM).

He made sure India in its waking reality understood the point in his 5-year plan that included free primary education for every child in India. When Jawaharlal Nehru was in power many schools were built across various villages, Tahseels and small towns in India.

He also made sure to include free milk and a proper meal for every child – the vision was to make sure they were growing in and living a healthy life. He felt deeply for malnutrition in India and took various steps to curb hunger in our country.

To say the least, Jawaharlal Nehru was a destiny’s child himself and his struggles were unending whilst he made sure to everything in his power to weave together a beautiful future for a better India. As George F. Kennedy had rightly put – “Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future". Pandit Nehru truly lived by his words for he was truly motivated and made best possible efforts to see through the positive changes that India needed to see in terms of the growth, nourishment and development of the youth.
