Samantha Akkineni opens up about casting couch

After Sri Reddy, Samantha Akkineni is the latest celebrity from the industry to react on casting couch issue.

Samantha Akkineni, who is enjoying the success of her recent offering Rangasthalam, costarring Ram Charan, helmed by Sukumar, is currently busy in the promotional activities of  her upcoming film ‘Mahanati’- the biopic of yesteryear actress Savitri, which is gearing up for grand release on 9th May. Recently Samantha, the daughter-in-law of Akkineni Nagarjuna and wife of Naga Chaitanya,  attended an  interview and opened about about casting couch and troll.  Samantha handled questions about her personal life really well. She  feels that the casting couch is part of every industry and feels it unfair that only the film industry is targeted.” She said, “I am in  working both in Tollywood and  Kollywood  for the last eight years. My first film was hit at the  box office. So i didn’t have much of a struggle in the Film Industry.”

Samantha added, “I  believe that there are lots of good things in the film industry. I have met the most helpful human beings in this entertainment industry and I want to continue working in Telugu and Tamil Film Industry even after I give birth to a child.   I am very happy that the government has formed a special cell to look into complaints of sexual exploitation.”

Samantha also opened up about troll. Recently the actress shared her few pics in bikini on her Instagram and  she was trolled. Samantha said, “Do you expect me to wear a sari on the beach? Just because I am married, they troll me. No one needs to suggest me how I should conduct my life. “

On the otherside, Sri Reddy’s protest against the existence of casting couch has shaken the Telugu Film Industry. Sri Reddy alleged that she was sexually exploited by many producers and directors.
