James Cameron Finally Discloses Why Rose Did Not Save Jack By Making Space On The Door

Titanic is one of the most iconic films and we can't ever stop Jack and Rose. Even decades later, there are some scenes that are etched in our memories.

While we love the film, the climax of the film melts the toughest of hearts. In the process of saving Rose, Jack dies and that scene in itself is a masterpiece.

A few days ago, the director of the film James Cameron revealed to Vanity Fair why Rose never said Jack. He said, "And the answer is very simple because it says on page 147 [of the script] that Jack dies. Very simple. . . . Obviously it was an artistic choice, the thing was just big enough to hold her, and not big enough to hold him . ."

“I think it’s all kind of silly, really, that we’re having this discussion 20 years later. But it does show that the film was effective in making Jack so endearing to the audience that it hurts them to see him die. Had he lived, the ending of the film would have been meaningless."
On the occasion of its 20 years, Cameron has recently remastered his classic, and Titanic will return to theaters beginning December 1.
