Flipkart's video service is open-to-all without ads, at least for now

New Delhi: Walmart-owned e-commerce giant Flipkart has started rolling out its 'video' service through the latest update of its Android app.
Similar to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and other streaming services, Flipkart is offering curated and personalised video content to the Indian audience.
To use the video streaming service, users can download the latest version (v6.17) of the app on their Android smartphones. Once the app is updated, one can access the service by going to the hamburger menu from the top left corner of the app and click on the videos section.
The bouquet of content is mainly in Hindi, although there are some videos in Tamil and Kannada. The interface is extremely simplified—there are three tabs that read 'All', 'Movies' and 'Shows'. The UI follows a dark theme, much like its competitors.
The company has added a dedicated section to its application and it provides content from players, like Arre, Dice Media, TVF and Voot.
You can view the content with two quality options: Auto and Good, with the latter showing videos in 480p.
Compared to its rivals the service, Flipkart Video lacks the sheer quantity of titles that viewers would like to watch even though its free. We can expect more fresh content to arrive on the platform in the coming months.
The biggest USP of Flipkart videos streaming service is that it's free for users, although it could be ad-supported in the days to come.
