NCERT Books now in Urdu, Yogi Adityanath approves plan to include books in Madrassa curriculum

National Council of Educational Research and Training, NCERT books are all set to get another upgrade. As per the latest changes introduced, the NCERT books would now be published in English, Hindi as well as Urdu. The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday approved the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks to be introduced in Urdu, Hindi and English language in Madrassa. The Madrassa board can now introduce the curriculum in the three languages. 

 
 

According to News18.com, the Madrassa syllabus would also have subjects like Science, Social Sciences, Hindi, English and Mathematics for the students. The cabinet meeting that was held on Tuesday decided on the new norms for the Madrassa board. The Madrassa Board, which teaches in Arbi-Farsi Urdu, held a meeting on May 15. 
 
In the meeting, they discussed that the Madrassas should teach in English and Hindi medium too, as per News18.com. The government spokesperson said that the cabinet has approved the suggestion of the Board.  The board teaches in Urdu as of now. The spokesperson also said that Madrassas are requested to teach NCERT syllabus in the schools. 
 
National Council of Education Research and Training, NCERT is the national level publishers. The curriculum of NCERT is used widely by CBSE and Kendriya Vidyalaya School. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, MHRD had last year suggested the inclusion of and synchronisation of the NCERT curriculum with the State based SCERT curriculum. The NCERT syllabus is widely used by the competitive examinations in the country including the more famous JEE Mains examinations and NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Both the exams are also conducted by CBSE.
