‘Lord Hanuman was Brahmin, Jatayu was Muslim’: Now, BJP MP Hari Om Pandey lists caste of

BJP MP Hari Om Pandey reportedly expressed confidence in his claims, asserting that he could “prove it to the world,”

New Delhi: Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are busy determining the ‘caste’ of Hindu gods and goddesses these days, particularly that of Lord Hanuman. Joining the list is BJP MP Hari Om Pandey, who claims to know the caste of the entire cast of characters in ‘Ram Durbar’ of the Hindu mythological text, Ramayana.

As per reports, the MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar constituency on Thursday asserted that Lord Hanuman was indeed a ‘Brahmin’, Sugriva – the ruler of ‘Vanara kingdom’ – was a “Kurmi”, while his brother Bali was a “Yadav”. The BJP leader also claimed that Jatayu, the mythical bird that tried to rescue Sita from Ravana, was not a bird but a “Muslim” and that Nal-Neel, members of the ‘Vanara Sena’ who helped construct the Ram Sethu bridge, belonged to the “Vishwakarma” community.

Pandey reportedly expressed confidence in his claims, asserting that he could “prove it to the world,” and adding, “It’s my own research.”  'Hanuman ji Musalman they,' says BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab - Watch him explain the reason

Earlier today, BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab said that he believed that Lord Hanuman was a “Muslim” and that most of the Muslim names have a connection to Hanuman. He said, "Hamara manna hai Hanuman ji Muslaman they...isliye Musalmanon ke andar jo naam rakha jata hai Rehman, Ramzan, Farman, Zishan, Qurban...jitne bhi naam rakhe jaate hain, wo karib karib unhi par rakhe jaate hain."

The debate on the ‘caste’ of the Hindu god Hanuman came to the fore when UP CM Yogi Adityanath claimed that Lord Hanuman was a Dalit. “Lord Hanuman was a forest dweller, deprived and a Dalit. Bajrang Bali worked to connect all Indian communities together, from north to south and east to west,” Adityanath had said at a rally Malakheda of Rajasthan's Alwar district in November.

Following the UP CM’s remarks, Union Minister of State Satyapal Chaudhary had asserted that Hanuman was an Arya.
