Illiteracy and it’s effect on the Country

Illiteracy is one of the common national issues we come across today in our daily lives. The lack of education among the people has turned out to be one of the very crucial issues which have great impact on the development of our nation.

Illiteracy is not said only when the person is not had any school education, but illiteracy can also be used when a person has been to school but has no knowledge about how to operate a device like computer or any other then that person is illiterate in that specific field. Today in this digitalised era everyone must have the basic knowledge of operating such basic devices.

Illiteracy is more commonly observed between people with a village background. It is mainly people who are uneducated who don’t give any importance to studies and don’t let their children also explore the world through education. They are of mostly of the opinion that they lead their life without education and so can their children. This attitude of the parents stops their children even having the bit taste of education. The continuation of this attitude can lead generations to be illiterate and lead many number of kids to child labour.

Illiteracy leads to rise in the poverty level of the country. Illiteracy can lead people to poverty due to no job opportunities. There are wide job opportunities for those who are educated because the job providing agencies require only people who have knowledge about the work and can read and write. As they believe in turning out their firms to become more professional and only a person with at least minimum education can become professional in their work or even day to day life.

Child labour is one of the other major issues which act as a negative impact on the literacy growth of the country. This forces each child to render their childhood days to work without even knowing what exactly a child’s life of their age is like. All they what will be aware of is the work what they do thinking that’s all life is meant to be. Reaching to conclusion that only work is what the world is all about.

Child marriage can be considered another issue due to illiteracy. As children are being forced to work from a very young age start living like elders from a very young age. This leads them to child marriage and again lead to bigger problems. For boys to look after the financial crisis of the family from a very young age and girls to look after their family has become one of the common customs within the illiterates.

Social crimes can be stated as another issue due to illiteracy. People with no knowledge have less job opportunities and they find difficult getting into jobs can they start robbing to live their life. First it might be with the beginning for food for one time a day later it can be even change their lives to perverted murderers or criminals

Introducing internet for every common person and making it easily accessible for them to use can be an introduction to the digital world for the illiterate which can give them another set of opportunities to gain knowledge digitally. The students can be introduced various online programs available on the internet platform. There are many colleges which offer online degree programs or even other basic educational programs. Online colleges like Trident University can be useful for every step of your educational journey. Using internet, they can study even the basic steps of education.

Giving free education to both illiterate parents as well as children can help them know the importance of education and can motivate them to study and earn knowledge. This can increase the economic and literacy rate of the country. Increasing employment opportunities for the unemployed must also be one of the major projects under the government schemes.

Likewise, there are orthodox parents who believe that only religious education is all what is required for someone to live. But it is a wrong assumption again because of illiteracy. Do agree to the point that theological learning or theological place great role in the society for the betterment of the nation or betterment of the people. But just religious studies to a small level can’t be enough to bring changes. There are wide opportunities available in theological studies also. Colleges like ACU online pay great interest in teaching students from any part of the world. Again, gaining religious degrees through online education can introduce them to the digital era along with giving them a wonderful opportunity to do research and learn more and teach more. This can drastically change the literacy level of the country.
