What is the big deal, you may ask? Well, this was supposed to be an event organised to just launch Redmi Note 7 in India! The global launch of the smartphone was announced by Xiaomi's Global vice-president Manu Kumar Jain while Xiaomi India's Head of Marketing Anuj Sharma revealed its specifications. The Redmi Note 7 Pro brings 48-megapixel camera to Xiaomi devices in India and the company has also moved on to 128GB storage for the first time.

While announcing the smartphone, Jain said that he is really proud of what Redmi Note series has achieved in India. Citing IDC numbers, he said that Xiaomi has shipped more than 12 million phones, just in the Redmi Note series. He claimed that Xiaomi is now a bigger brand than Realme, Honor, Huawei and Asus combined in India.
