China-Pak corridor: China willing to rename China Pakistan Economic Corridor to appease India
New Delhi: After offering to intercede amongst Indian and Pakistan, China has now communicated its readiness to change the name of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to mollify India's worries about the venture.
India has been against the CPEC on the ground that it goes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) – a region that is a vital piece of India, however, is presently under illicit occupation by Pakistan.
The offer was made by Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui under the affection of not disturbing respective relations amongst India and China.
Luo contended that CPEC is for advancing monetary participation and availability and that Beijing has no arrangements to get required in the sway and regional question amongst India and Pakistan.
"It (CPEC) has no associations with or affect on power issues. Indeed, even we can consider renaming the CPEC. China and India have had effective experience of delinking power debate with two-sided relations sometime recently. China is true in its expectation to participate with India on the One Belt One Road (OBOR) activity, as it is useful for the two of us," he said.
The Ambassador even denied that China has been supporting Pakistan. He said that China's drives concentrate more on receiving its own rewards as opposed to supporting the position of whatever other country.
"We generally put China first and we manage issues in light of their own benefits," he said.
On Sunday, Pakistan and China consented to together direct the CPEC and guarantee straightforwardness in the venture as an assention in such manner was marked between the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Beijing.
