Delhi Daredevils win toss vs Kolkata Knight Riders, opt to bat first in IPL tie

Delhi Daredevils have decided to bat first after winning the toss ahead of their 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Kolkata Knight Riders

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Monday. Delhi Daredevils must have taken a cue from the previous game against Kings XI Punjab and have decided to set the target once again. The Feroz Shah Kotla wicket is expected to get slower as the game proceeds and a target of over 170 could well be a match-wining total here.

As far as the playing XIs are concerned, Delhi has made a couple of changes. They have strengthened their pace bowling attack by bringing in India pacer Mohammed Shami.

Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Matthews has replaced the last game’s man of the match, Corey Anderson, who was declared unwell. Kolkata Knight Riders replaced Trent Boult with Nathan Coulter-Nile, as Boult had been expensive in the last few games.

At the toss, Zaheer Khan said that the wicket will have bounce and it could be a reason that Delhi Daredevils added pace to its arsenal. It will be the first game for Mohammed Shami and he will be expected to pair up with Chris Morris at the death
