Tata Harrier Kryotec diesel 2-L 4 cylinder engine officially revealed before launch

Tata Harrier SUV is due for launch soon in India.

Tata Motors has been promoting its upcoming SUV Harrier in a big way ever since it was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo. Tata Harrier is being claimed to be one of the toughest vehicles ever built that could tame any terrain. Tata Motors has released various videos, providing details about how the powerful and durable vehicle can take on any obstacle and emerge unscathed. Harrier has created the right buzz among SUV users and it is one of the most eagerly awaited SUVs in India.

Today, they have officially revealed engine name and details of the Harrier. The new 2.0 liter that will power Harrier, will be called Kryotec. Though Tata Motors has not revealed power and torque figures, reports suggest that Kryotec could deliver 140 PS and 300 Nm via a 6 speed manual transmission and 6 speed auto transmission.

Speaking about the engine, Tata says – “This engine has been tested extensively on Tata Harrier for endurance under harsh conditions and optimized for performance by pushing it to its extremes.” However, going by the claims being made by Tata Motors about Harrier, the SUV does seem to be superior in many aspects. Here are 5 key reasons that can prompt users to delay their SUV purchase this festive season and wait till early 2019 for the launch of Tata Harrier.

Legendary pedigree: Tata harrier utilizes Land Rover’s D8 Architecture and has been jointly developed with Jaguar Land Rover. Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 Architecture has already been rolled out in more than 1 million SUVs globally. This guarantees world class standards for Tata Harrier.

Tested for Endurance: Tata Harrier with Kryotec engine has been especially engineered to withstand extremely tortuous road conditions. It has already been tested for 2.2 million kilometres on 4 Poster simulators that replicate the worst of terrain. This is equivalent to 10 years of driving on tortuous terrain. Considering the bad condition of roads in the country, Tata Harrier could be a good choice.

Advanced OMEGA ARC platform: Tata Harrier is based on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Architecture (OMEGA) platform, which provides the best driving experience even when negotiating rough terrain. High-strength steel has been used to make Harrier, which ensures increased durability and safety. There are efficiently designed crumple zones that absorb impact during a collision.

Loaded with high-tech features: Details have not been revealed, but Tata Harrier is expected to have state-of-the-art technology features that would improve driving experience and ensure utmost comfort and luxury. Be it advanced safety, or connected systems – expect it to be loaded.

Price benefits: Tata Motors will launch Harrier at a competitive price, so that it can effectively take on rivals such as Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and Mahindra XUV 700. Expect it to be launched at a price range of Rs 13-16 lakhs.
