Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's first look from 71st annual Cannes Film Festival is finally here.

For her first look at the festival, the actress opted for a black, shimmering saree by Sabyasachi, paired with a black blouse.

Sabysachi posted a picture of Kangana's look on social media and explained that the hand-dyed saree was ''embellished with hand-cut sequins that are individually sewn using zardosi technique, to create a metallic, yet fluid fabric.''

Kangana Ranaut @team_kangana_ranaut @festivaldecannes looks resplendent in an ultra-glamorous rendition of our famous ‘‘Aakash-tara’ (i.e. starry skies) saree. The saree is hand-dyed and embellished with hand-cut sequins that are individually sewn using zardosi technique, to create a metallic, yet fluid fabric. Her look is accessorised with a Sabyasachi batua and the ‘teenmaniya’ necklace, crafted out of rose-cut diamonds, Colombian emeralds and basra pearls from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection. While the retro hairdo and eye makeup caught our attention, it seemed like the actress played a little too safe for her debut appearance at an event as prestigious as Cannes.

In fact, one is reminded of some of the most stunning looks pulled off by actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in the past few years at the festival. Kangana's debut look, however, didn't match up to the level.

The actress teamed the saree with a choker from Sabyasachi's jewellery collection. The choker boasted of basra pearls, with a stunning piece of emerald at the centre, encircled with diamonds.
