Released in 2018, Veere Di Wedding followed the lives of four women as they gear up for Kalindi Puri (played by Kareena Kapoor Khan)’s big day. The film didn’t just highlight social issues faced by women, it also served up some exciting wedding wear looks through Kalindi’s wedding festivities. One of the most memorable scenes from the film was the fun-filled sangeet night. The song ‘Pappi Le Loon’ from the movie took audiences through all the happenings of a big Indian wedding, from dance practices to the final sangeet celebration, where the four main stars were seen having a blast in eye-catching pre-wedding looks. One of the most exciting outfits from the track was worn by Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, and would make a great festive wear pick for any bridesmaid who enjoys experimenting with her wardrobe. Kapoor Ahuja’s not-so-basic lehenga comprised of a risqué corset-style blouse featuring an attached dupatta, worn with a mermaid cut lehenga skirt.

Unlike traditional lehengas, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s peach number featured a body-skimming mermaid-style skirt and sequinned bralette for a choli. Designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and styled by Rhea Kapoor, the outfit featured intense gold floral embellishment on its skirt, and geometric embroidery on the blouse and dupatta. While the cut of Kapoor Ahuja’s lehenga was sultry, its romantic palette and floral details gave it a feminine spin. What’s more, that choker-style dupatta made her outfit surprisingly easy to manage. To complete her look, the actor picked statement-making earrings by Birdhichand (don’t miss the layers and layers of gems cascading down to her shoulders) and a potli bag from The Pink Potli.
