6.5 quake hits China’s Xinjiang region, one dead
Saturday, November 26, 2016 IST
An 6.5-magnitude quake shook a precipitous range of far western China Friday night, with one individual killed when a house given way in a district frequently tormented with seismic movement.
The tremor struck southern Xinjiang, an inconceivable district circumscribing focal Asia, at a generally shallow profundity of 12 kilometers (seven miles), the US Geological Survey said.
The shake hit close to the Tajik outskirt and somewhere in the range of 170 kilometers west of the Chinese city of Kashgar.
One villager passed on because of a house fall while six structures endured harm in the scantily populated region, the state news organization Xinhua said, refering to nearby powers.
Pakistani powers said the shudder had been felt in the northwestern area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the National Disaster Management Authority said. There were no reports of harm there.
The USGS said just a generally little zone would have seen the shaking to be solid.
