IRCTC e-ticket booking: THESE users won't be able to book Indian Railways train tickets
IRCTC has informed that the IRCTC website, www.irctc.co.in, won’t open on certain operating systems as the IRCTC e-ticketing website is being migrated.
New Delhi: With the facility of IRCTC e-ticketing website, individuals can book train tickets, hotels, Indian Railways-led trips, tatkal tickets, modify/cancel the tickets without going to the ticket counters. Earlier last year, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) revamped and updated its website for the first time since 2014. Now, IRCTC has informed that the IRCTC website, www.irctc.co.in, won’t open on certain operating systems as the IRCTC e-ticketing website is being migrated.
This month itself, IRCTC has said that the IRCTC e-ticketing website is being migrated to TLS 1.2, in order to enhance the security features on the website. Notably, the TLS 1.2 is not supported in the older versions of computer operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Following the successful migration of the IRCTC e-ticketing website, www.irctc.co.in will not be accessible in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. To continue using the facility IRCTC e-ticket booking, users are advised to upgrade the operating systems higher Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
According to IRCTC alert, TLS 1.2 is accessible with Windows Vista & Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8 & Windows Server 2012, Windows 8.1 & Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 10 & Windows Server 2016. Passengers booking train tickets around the busy schedule of Holi festival should take due note of the alert. The inbound and outbound train tickets for most of the popular destinations have been sold out.
