Maruti Ertiga CNG on cards, launch in 2019

Petrol-CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been one of the most popular choices in the Indian market. So, when the all-new Ertiga was launched yesterday sans the CNG option, questions related to it started popping up immediately.

When we asked Maruti Suzuki about their plans for the Ertiga CNG, the Indian carmaker assured us that the CNG trim is already on the cards and we can expect it in the first half of 2019.

The new Ertiga comes with the new 1.5-litre petrol engine which was recently introduced in India with the Ciaz. Developing this new engine to run on CNG will mean that even the Ciaz might get the CNG option owing to the growing popularity of petrol as a fuel choice, especially when coupled with CNG.
