The Zoo That Puts People In Moving Cages While Animals Roam Free

As a child, I never liked zoos or circuses because I couldn’t understand what was so fun in watching caged and humiliated animals. Now, as an adult, I believe that animal captivity is wrong to the core since other species have the same rights for life and freedom as we do.

There’s been much debate on the animal captivity lately, and it makes sense why – keeping wild creatures in cages is inhumane, to say the least. Just think about it – not only have we deprived other living beings of their natural habitats by harming the environment, but we also dare to imprison them for our own amusement.

It seems that a zoo in China has found an unusual way to bring people closer to the wildlife without caging animals.

A New Approach

As many zoo’s around the world are closing, others are finding new ways for humans to see the worlds animals. There is one zoo in particular that has found an exciting solution to bringing people closer to the wildlife without caging the animals.

This zoo, called The Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo, located in China, gives people the opportunity to see wild creatures roaming free. Instead of the animals being confined to small cages, the people are. Visitors get driven through the park in a caged vehicle while the world’s most ferocious predators, including Bengal tigers, white tigers, lions, and bears stalk them like prey.

But that’s not all. This zoo is special because the cages the visitors are riding in have bait attached to them. There are chunks of meat, even whole chickens, tied to the outside of these moving cages in order to attract the animals.

There are even small openings around through which people can feed the exotic beasts. At this zoo, instead of viewing the animals from a safe distance, they are extremely close and practically eating from the palm of your hand.

Chan Llang , the zoo spokeswoman, explains:

“We wanted to give our visitors the thrill of being stalked and attacked by the big cats but with, of course, none of the risks. The guests are warned to keep their fingers and hands inside the cage at all times, because a hungry tiger wouldn’t know the difference between them and breakfast.”

People are loving it. The concept is bringing in local Chinese tourists from all over the country as well as international tourists. The zoo is always sold out of tickets.

Visitor Tao Jen said:

“It’s nothing like I’ve ever experienced in a zoo before. We’re not looking at them, they’re looking at us – and we’re lunch.”

What do you say…would you like to experience the thrill of the hunt and see things from the prey’s perspective?

If we have added value to your life and you want to support us and become more involved with what we do you can now become an
