Tata Harrier’s 7-seater Version H7X Will Be Quite Different – Report

Tata Harrier’s three-row seat version in works, details out

There’s no doubt that the Tata Harrier has remained the most talked-about vehicle in the recent past. While Tata has unveiled the Harrier completely, the brand is now the manufacturer is now working on the extended version of the Harrier with 7-seats. Tata is currently testing the vehicle under heavy camouflage but there are reports that suggest quite a lot about the all-new SUV that is expected to be launched by late 2019.

The H7X would target the customers who want a family car with brutish looks. The H7X would be the true competitor of the Mahindra XUV 500, which also offers seven seats. As per Tata officials, the H7X would be significantly different from the Harrier in terms of design and looks. The silhouette of the H7X would be very different from the Harrier too.

Apart from being longer than the Harrier, the H7X would also get a much flatter roofline, which will add extra headroom for the third-row passengers in the vehicle. Like the Harrier, the all-new H7X would be built on the OmegaArc platform that has been derived from the Land Rover’s D8 platform.

The wheelbase is expected to remain the same but the front and rear overhangs would increase in length, which would allow space for the extra row. Tata is expected to offer a sizable boot space, unlike its competitors that offers almost negligible boot space.

The engine of the Tata H7X would remain same as to the Harrier. The 2.0-litre Multijet engine sourced from Fiat would power the H7X too but it is expected to get a different, more powerful tuning. Tata may also offer an automatic transmission with the H7X to compensate the increase in weight.

However, just like the Harrier, there would be no AWD system in the H7X. Other features like 8.8-inch touchscreen system, 6-airbags, 9-speaker system, alloy wheels and more are expected to remain same. Tata is also working on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno challenger known as the 45X internally.
