Demonetisation: I-T dept to strictly take on depositors of unverified cash over Rs 5 lakh

New Delhi: Depositors of money worth Rs 5 lakh or above, amid the demonetisation time frame, who neglected to confirm a similar will be gone up against entirely by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), according to a report distributed in Times of India.

In any case, the office may go simple on 'generally safe cases.'

The number comes at 18 lakh of individuals who have kept more than Rs 5 lakh trade out their financial balances with no electronic confirmation.
