Chandigarh: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was on Friday held guilty of rape by the Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court
The Panchkula CBI court will articulate the quantum of sentence on August 28.
Expound security arrangements are set up by the district court in Panchkula in front of the court decision.
The case against Ram Rahim was enrolled in 2002 by the CBI on the bearings of the Punjab and Haryana High Court after unknown letters were circled about the charged sexual abuse of two "sadhvis" (female adherents) by Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
The charged assault and sexual misuse of the female supporter was first detailed through a mysterious letter in 2002 to the then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court here.
With strain mounting in Haryana's Panchkula, Army was brought in to manage any circumstance alongside other security powers.
