Guards, lift operator among 18 men held in Chennai for ‘sexually assaulting’ girl for months in apartment complex
Police have held 18 men, including security men, lift operator and water suppliers, for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl for over seven months in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai, news agency ANI said on Tuesday.
The mother of the victim, a Class 7 student, registered a complaint with the police on Monday alleging that her daughter was sexually assaulted by the men in various places inside their apartment campus.
Police said the complaint was lodged after the girl narrated the incidents to her elder sister, who later brought it to the notice of their parents.
The action came after the police interrogated the accused during their investigation.
