Mumbai: At least seven persons were killed and more than 30 trapped when a four-storey dilapidated residential building collapsed in Ghatkopar suburb of Mumbai on Tuesday morning
Twelve people have been removed securely and endeavors were in progress to save the others from under the trash of the doomed Sai Darshan building which crumbled in Ghatkopar's Damodar Park range at the beginning of today.
The civic body's control room got a call at around 10.43 am about the mishap, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) fire detachment office chief PS Rahangdale said.
Fourteen fire engines, protect vans, and ambulances other than groups of the state catastrophe administration constrain were at the site, the BMC Disaster Control official said.
A fire brigade officer said 30-40 people were still dreaded caught and save operations were going on.
The harmed were hurried to hospitals. Unverified reports put the passings at 12.
Around 12 families lived in the building which additionally housed a private healing facility on the ground floor.
The building figured on the BMC`s rundown of "hazardous structures".
