Railways if planning to develop around 70 stations by the end of this financial year. Railways has also aimed to provide airport-standard illumination at 690 stations this year.
New Delhi: Indian Railways' station redevelopment and beautification drive are on full force! Once of railways' key stations, the New Delhi railway station has gotten a world-class makeover. From airport standard illumination to redeveloped platforms, the station looks modern. Vibrant painting all over the wall and ceiling gives the station a fresh colourful look.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy facilities like lifts, escalators, LCD displays, LED lights, electric carts for elders and differently abled and more. The station has cleaner platforms and circulating area and solar panels are also installed which will generate energy to power the station.

Worth mentioning here is that several railway stations have been redeveloped in the past couple of months and railways if planning to develop around 70 stations by the end of this financial year. Railways has also aimed to provide airport-standard illumination at 690 stations this year.
Also, Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC), which is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for developing and redeveloping stations, will invest Rs 7,500 crore for the redevelopment of as many as 50 railway stations across India. Railways also have a station beautification drive going on, under which stations are being beautified with painting and murals to enhance passengers' experience at stations.
