Noida Aqua Line: Fares, routes, opening dates and all you need to know

Delhi is a densely populated city, brimming with life in all shapes and sizes, where all the people have to commute from point A to point B in the most convenient manner possible. This is where enters the Delhi metro.

Delhi metro has taken off by storm and is on the fast pace to developments. With new stations and metro lines coming up, the latest addition to the metro rail system is Noida’s Aqua Line extension and here’s everything you need to know about it.

The trial runs and safety inspections have been completed well in time and now it’s time to make it open for public use. Noida’s Aqua Line metro station will be inaugurated by U.P chief minister, Yogi Adityanath on Friday, January 25.

Length and Route

The metro line will cover areas all the way from Noida, Sector 51 to Greater Noida Depot Station. It will come under the wing of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for the first year, after which it will be taken over by Noida Metro Rail Corporation. The Aqua line, upon completion will have two phases, one of which is already complete and set for inauguration.

The length of Phase 1 is about 29.7 kilometres and will cover areas such as Noida Sector 76, 101, 137, 142, Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park and a few more station in between. It will have a total of 21 stations with 15 in Noida and 6 in Greater Noida.

Interchange Stations and Tickets

If you’re wondering how to change stations and get on the Aqua Line, all you have to do is get to the interchange station of the Blue line, Noida Sector 52 and get on the Aqua Line platform at Sector 51, which is reportedly 200 metres away from the former. It must be noted however, that Delhi Metro smart cards will not work on this line and passengers will have to purchase QR code based tickets or get a separate metro card made.

Metro Fares

Delhi metro is perhaps the cheapest form of commute over long distances and isn’t too heavy on your pocket. Aqua Line is no different and fares will start from ₹9 for short distances and the maximum fares will go up to just ₹50.

Commuters are eagerly looking forward to boarding the Aqua line as it’s inauguration has been delayed a few times already. Earlier, it was said to become operational from November 2018 after which it was pushed to December. Now, on January 25, the metro line will finally be operational, bringing much relief to daily travellers.
