TV Star Tinaa Dattaa Opens Up on Her Abusive Relationship, Says ‘I Would Get Bashed in front of My Friends’
A popular face on television, Tinna Dattaa opened up about her unhealthy relationship. The actress revealed that she was in abusive relationship for five years and the experience jolted her to an extent that she lost confidence in herself.
Speaking to Bombay times Tinaa said, "I was in a relationship with a non-industry guy for five years. We had met through common friends. But I called time on it, because he was extremely abusive, verbally and physically. I would get bashed up even in front of my friends."
Traumatised by the experience the actress narrated that she did not want to talk about her relationship publicly because she hoped for a future with the guy. However, she feels now is the time when she should talk about it. "I went bonkers to an extent that my confidence took a beating. I never wanted to go public with my relationship, but I feel that it’s time to speak up,” added Tinaa.
Tinaa shares that she wants to settle down but with somebody who doesn't belong to the industry. She said, "I want to settle down and not go about having affairs and then nursing heartbreaks. I have always wanted a love marriage, but God is not sending anyone my way. I don’t want to marry someone from the industry, especially an actor, as the relationship will be marred by insecurities. I have seen several failed marriages between actors."
On the work front, Tinaa became a household name for playing Ichha in Uttaran. Currently she's seen in a TV serial titled Daayan.
